The TABER® Abraser (Abrader) is available in two models - single or dual specimen tables. Both offer the same durable design and can be used interchangeably. With the introduction of the model 5135 and 5155, Taber Abrasers are now available as 115/230V; 60/50Hz switchable and offer many new features.

TABER® Abraser (Abrader) - Model 5135
Model 5135 features a single specimen turntable.

TABER® Abraser (Abrader) - Model 5155
Model 5155 features a dual specimen turntable, which allows you to perform two tests simultaneously (test two different or identical specimens for comparison or contrast). Separate function keys operate the turntables independent of each other.

The TABER® Linear Abraser
Model 5750 offers the greatest versatility of any Taber instrument available.

Designed to test virtually any size or shape specimen, the Linear Abraser is ideal for material properties of contoured surfaces and finished products. Initially developed to evaluate wear resistance, this instrument can also be used to evaluate scratch resistance (single or multiple pass), color transfer [commonly referred to as crocking or a crockmeter], and perform coin scrape tests. Plus, with the universal or a custom attachment, 'real world' testing and other forms of material durability can be performed. The Linear Abraser can be used for both wet and dry testing.

Oscillating Abrasion Tester
The TABER® Oscillating Abrasion Tester - Model 6100 is best known as an "oscillating sand tester". Described in ASTM F735, the oscillating sand tester is used to measure the resistance of a material to surface abrasion and scratching. It's primary application is for transparent materials and coatings utilized in windows and lenses, but it can also be used to evaluate organic coatings, plastics, metals and other materials..

Multi-Media Abraser
The TABER® Multi-Media Abraser - Model 5500 enables you to perform particle abrasivity testing. Originally presented at the 1996 International Conference of The Adhesive and Sealant Council(2.2 MB), the Multi-Media Abraser provides a reproducible method to measure the abrasivity of various mediums. Using this instrument, you can determine the relative abrasiveness of fluids, powders, pastes and semi-solids. Or, characterize how these mediums cause wear when they come in contacht with different components.
