XRay Inspection Packaged Products
The Loma X4 range of X-ray inspection systems for the food and packaging industries. It is the most advanced on the market today. All models are highly sensitive to detection of metallic and non-metallic contaminants such as glass, stone, calcified bone, high-density plastics and rubber. Loma X4 X-ray inspection systems are robust, reliable, hygienic and simple to use.

Pumped Products
The Loma X4 range of PipeLine X-ray inspection systems. These PipeLine models have been designed for contaminant detection in products that are (or can be) transported in a pipe, including diced meat, fround meat, meat pastes and slurry, dairy products, sauces, jams and preserves, chocolate, soups and pickles, ground meat, chicken trim, turkey and whole chicken fillets.

Pumping products through an X4 PipeLine system maximises sensitivity for all contaminants, especially those that have low-density characteristics such as calcified bone. A high speed and accurate reject valve, which can be synchronised to the pump, minimises rejected portions.

Loma X4 X-ray pipeline systems are robust, reliable, hygienic and simple to use. The X4 PipeLine can be fitted into existing rigid or flexible pipe systems and has robust quick-release fittings that enable it to be easily dismantled and cleaned.

Bulk Flow Products
The Loma X4 range of bulk X-ray inspection systems are the most advanced on the market today. All models are highly sensitive to both metal and non-metallic contaminants such as glass, stone, calcified bone, high-density plastics and rubber. The design is optimised for the inspection of products that are transported loose and unpacked prior to packing and processing - such as nuts, grains, cereals, frozen fruit and vegetables or for formed products such as potato cakes & hamburgers. Loma X4 X-ray bulk systems are robust, reliable, hygienic and simple to use.

To minimise product waste a high speed and accurate multiflap reject mechanism rejects portions by selecting only the area of flow in which a contaminant has been detected.

Models

  • A range of standard belt widths are available, between 300mm (12") and 600mm (24"), with apertures heights to 250mm (9.8")
  • Each model is available with two variable power bands - high power (HP) and low power (LP). The low power system being suitable for most bulk food applications

    Entry Level System

A state-of-the-art X-ray inspection machine that defies convention by offering extraordinary levels of performance at an entry-level price. The XR system combines the latest technologies with a robust modular design that enables it to deliver market-leading performance and unrivalled contaminant and product-defect detection.

The new, economical X-ray machine is able to establish a new standard of cost-effective end-of-line inspections by relying on the same X-ray technology used in Loma’s acclaimed X4 range. As a consequence, proven image processing and high-speed computational capabilities have been seamlessly combined with a newly designed frame and conveyor system to create a versatile, yet practical unit.

This unique package, which also includes a user-friendly operating environment, combines the very latest technical innovations with an affordable price tag. As a result, the XR will appeal to those who have considered investing in an X-ray system, but have been restricted by limited funds.

    Compact X-Ray & Weighing

X-weigh enables the X-ray system to weigh the product whilst simultaneously inspecting for foreign body contaminants in one compact and easy to use format. The combination of the two technologies ensures that food manufacturers’ produce is safe and products are consistent in weight, size and shape.

Unlike traditional checkweighers, the X-weigh is unaffected by pack rate, speed, vibration, air turbulence, pack orientation or stability and requires little maintenance. Loma equipment is designed to survive even the harshest of manufacturing environments and the X-weigh is no exception, incorporating a heavy duty conveyor design.

The new X-weigh software complies with national weights and measures legislation and automatically calculates the correct reject set points for European and Canadian Average Weight legislation and American Minimum or MAV weight control. X-weigh supports a comprehensive reports package showing trends, give-away and batch analysis. The statistical information that the software provides can be networked via Ethernet to a central plant computer or SCADA system.

The Loma X-weigh allows for multi-lane checkweighing, which means a number of lines can be run through the system with each pack inspected according to its own target weight parameters. X-weigh also offers combined weighing and object checking, which will ensure that packs with more than one weight zone are compliant for both overall pack weight and individual weight zones.
